Is AgVISE hypothetical?
Not at all! This is a real cost-share program for a system to trap feral hogs on your property. Like any cost-share program, if you are selected, there is a share of the total cost that you are responsible for. AgVISE covers the rest. Then, a professional company installs a premium hog trapping system on your property and you own it.
What does AgVISE stand for?
AgVISE stands for Agriculture Values, Innovation, and Stewardship Enhancement.
Am I eligible to participate?
To participate you must be at least 25 years old, have at least $1,000 of farm income in a typical year, and your land must be in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, or TX. Only one participant per farm or household.
I did not receive a code, how do I participate?
If you received an invitation, that invitation has a code on it. The code will be similar to "BlueBottle552". If you did not receive an invitation, give us a call at (470) 222-6351.
Why are you doing AgVISE?
We are studying programs that allow farmers to 'set their own cost-share.' In most conservation programs, government administrators set the cost-share amounts, and farmers can take it or leave it. The AgVISE project is aimed at determining if letting farmers set their own cost-share is a better way. Our goal is to make recommendations to USDA and state administrators on ways to improve voluntary conservation programs.
What if I am not sure if I am interested in cost-sharing?
We want you to learn about the program. If, after learning about it, you are not interested in participating in the cost-share auction, you will simply answer a few survey questions, and then you will be done.
If I want to change my cost-share bid after I submit it today, can I do that?
You should think of your bid as final once you submit it today. Changing it after you submit it may be possible, depending on whether the bidding period has been closed. If you want to try to change your bid, give us a call (470-222-6351) or email (email@example.com), and we will try to help you.
How will I be notified if my cost-share bid is selected?
We will contact you using the contact information that you provide us. Please provide us with multiple ways to contact you so you won’t miss the opportunity. Notification of selection will take place after the auction closes.
What do I do if I am having problems with the online system?
